Scenic Beauty: Gosau is surrounded by an impressive alpine landscape characterized by majestic mountain peaks, lush alpine meadows, and sparkling mountain lakes. The view of the imposing Dachstein Mountains is particularly breathtaking and provides numerous photo opportunities.
Gosausee, or Lake Gosau, is a stunning natural attraction located near the village of Gosau in the Austrian Alps. Surrounded by towering peaks and lush forests, Gosausee is renowned for its crystal-clear turquoise waters and breathtaking mountain vistas. I love to make foto’s with my products here.

Just a 15 minute drive from Gosau, you will find the small charming and historic village: Hallstatt. Renowned for its breathtaking beauty and rich cultural heritage. I can well imagine that this city was an inspiration for the film Frozen. Its picturesque scenery and idyllic atmosphere have drawn comparisons to the fictional kingdom of Arendelle depicted in the film.

The hotel has been around for more than 300 years, it was the first building in the Salzkammergut with running water. Kaizer Frans Jozef (from the film Sissi) stayed in the hotel after his hunts.
Nothing is missing at breakfast, everyone is greeted personally and asked what kind of egg you want, coffee, tea or hot chocolate. If you stay halfpension, you have a 3 or 4 course menu, and you even have the choice of different main courses. There is a cross-country ski trail behind the hotel. A walk to the village center (ski slope) is only 20 minutes, and a walk to the Gosausee about 60 minutes. (of course you can also take the bus, or go by car in 10 minutes).
The new Gosauschmied apartments have been open since January 2024. It is a pleasure to stay here, you wake up with a view of the mountains. Everything has been finished with the utmost attention. Can you find the 3 churches of Gosau in the photo above? It is an amazing scene, my favorite church is the top pink one, you have to walk a number of stairs to get there, but the mystical feeling and the view is priceless.
