10 Years ago I was interested in making cute baby booties. I tried several patterns, but the result was not satisfactory. So I decided to design my own pattern. It resulted in days of crocheting, pulling out, starting again.. finally: YES, I was happy with the model that resulted from my hard work.
The Inspiration & Design
I started with the sole, and worked my way from there to the heel, and on to the border. Later I made different variations on it, several sizes and different stitches.
You can buy the pattern of my first design at my shop: Pattern booties with buttons it’s available in 4 sizes:
- 7 cm (2.7 inch) – approximately 0-1 months (newborn, premature)
- 8 cm (3.1 inch) – approximately 1-5 months
- 10 cm (3.9 inch) – approximately 4-7 months
- 12 cm (4.7 inch) – approximately 7-12 months
The next design is a cool bootie with a double brim. The choice of color makes a big difference, it’s also fun to make the sole in a contrasting color. Booties double brim
After making these booties I made these cute “bobble” booties. You can find the pattern for this on the following site: Pattern baby booties “Bobble” The pattern of these booties is available is sizes:
- 8 cm (3.1 inch) – approximately 1-5 months
- 10 cm (3.9 inch) – approximately 4-7 months
The last model I designed is a design with a lace. I use a piece of t-shirt yarn for the lace, you can also cut ribbons from an old shirt. The advantage of this model is that the booties cannot fall out. I only made a video tutorial of this model. I used medium weight yarn, and crochet-hook 4 mm.
